Claus Wenholdt - Sunflowers


Mr Claus Wenholdt applied Bactallion Microbes to 2HA of sunflower. We dosed when the plants was already 10cm high @ 1X dosing.

Measured Areas:
2 pieces of land of 3.5m X 100m was harvested, bagged and weighed separately. The aim was to evaluate yield increase of Control vs Bactallion Microbe dosing.

Client Comment - We noted that on the treated sunflowers the whole flower was covered in seeds. On the Control we found he seeds in the middle did not develop.

Na aanleiding van die Bactallion Ltd Proewe wat vanaf 2016 op my Plaas in die Rustenburg omgewing, uitgevoer is.

Gedurende hierdie periode is vyf Koring- en vier Sojaboon aanplantings, met die produk in stroke behandel. Twee spilpunte is vir die doel gebruik en al die seisoene se proefwerk is op hierdie areas uitgevoer.

Die doel van die evaluasie was om die verskille in opbrengs en kwaliteit van beide gewasse, tussen die behandellings kombinasies te vergelyk. Visuele verskille in groeikragtigheid asook wortelontwikelling is telkens gedoen, maar nie op ‘n kwantitatiewe basis nie.
Die behandellings kombinasie wat vir die duur van die evaluasie toegepas is, is telkens as volg saamgestel:
1. Onbehandelde Kontrole.
2. Produk teen aanbevole dosis (X). 10X Liter saamgestelde produk wat bestaan het uit 8x liter “Life & 2X liter “Loaded”.
3. Produk teen dubbel aanbevole dosis (2X). 20X Liter saamgestelde produk wat bestaan het uit 16x liter “Life & 4X liter “Loaded”.

Gevolgtrekking:
Bactallion (helder oplossing) kan met gemak deur ‘n balkspuit of spilpunt toegedien word.
Die verpilde Bactallion produk moet voldoende tyd (ten minste ses ure) toegelaat word om in oplossing te gaan, voor toediening waarna dit gemaklik met beide metodes toegedien kan word.
n Opbrengs verhoging van tussen 8 tot 12% in graanopbrengs is oor seisoene behaal tussen die behandelde en onbehandelde kontrole op beide Koring en Sojabone.
‘n Koste voordeel met die gebruik van die produk was telkens aanwesig, op ‘n lae waarde gewas soos Koring en Sojabone.
Volgens resultate wat behaal is het die 2X - aanvanklik beter in opbrengs op beide gewasse presteer, as die X behandelling. Dit kan moontlik toegeskryf word aan die lae basis van biologiese aktiwiteit wat tydens die aanvang van die proewe in die grond teenwoordig was.
Hierdie tendens het oor tyd, tussen die 2X en X behandelling verklein en die verskil in graanobrengs was oor tyd, telkens kleiner. Die reaksie in opbrengs kan moontlik toegeskryf word aan die feit dat die biologiese aktiwiteit in die grond, oor seisoene toegeneem en tot ‘n mate herstel is.
Die verlaging in die hoeveelheid toegediende produk (2X na X) kan oorweeg word weens die koste implikasie aanwesig, soos wat deur die ingesamelde opbrengscdata ondersteun word. Die aantal seisoene voor verlaging ekonomies geregverdig word, sal grootliks berus by die toename in biologiese aktiwiteit in die betrokke grond. Die meting daarvan is tans feitlik onmoontlik en gaan uitsluitlik op die produsent se gevoel berus, asook op die in-sito bepaling op spesifieke areas wat verskillend behandel is.
Verder is daar van mening dat die produk (veral op ‘n vinnige groeiers soos graan) eerder volledig eenmalig toegedien word, direk na plant. Hierdie reaksie is nie gekwantifiseer nie maar word slegs gebasseer op die “gut- feeling” van die produsent.
Soos vermoed was daar ‘n sterk korrelasie tussen verhoogde biologiese aktiwiteit en Koringkwaliteit gelewer. Geen aanpassings in die chemiese voedingsprogram is vir die duur van die projek aangebring nie en dieselfde Koringkultivar is telkens aangeplant. Kwaliteits verbetering het eers na vyf seisoene van toediening plaasgevind en is na die sewende seisoen herhaal.

Mr Martin Swart applied Bactallion Lt Life and Lt Loaded to the potatoes.

He used 2X dosing as prescribed and achieved impeccable results.

There was a turnover increase of 15 ton per hectare to 95 ton per hectare (Bactallion dosed) apposed to Control of 80 ton per hectare.
A total of 15.8% turnover difference.

Conculsion:

Bactallion gave a 12.29% improvement in harvest volume in the first year of treatment
Bactallion raised the price with 30c p.kg
Lower TKR on harvested block can be attributed to a bigger volume nut that was developed by the Macadamia tree and thus put more pressure on the tree, concluding to a bigger shell and a lower TKR
Marmac Farm will in future use Bactallion as preferred supplier on crop yield enhancement
Treat all the blocks with prescribed volumes - 2X dosing for 2018

Example on a harvest of 100 ton

20 HA @ 5 ton p.ha = 100 ton in total
100 ton @ R54.25 = R5 395 000
12.29% increase in returns
100 ton + 12.29% = 112.29 ton
112.29 ton @ R53.95 = R6 091 732
Difference in return = R646 000

Selling rate very conservative and can be increased to R80
